2. Information we collect
Contact form. When you write to us through the form, we collect your name, email address and message (required), and, if you choose to provide them, your company, phone number and the subject of your request. We also record the date and the language of the form.
Anti-abuse protection. To limit spam, your IP address is converted into an irreversible fingerprint (hash) and kept for no more than one hour. It is not linked to your message.
Technical logs. Like any website, our web server automatically records technical data (IP address, date, page requested, browser type) to ensure the security and proper functioning of the site. These logs are kept for a limited time and are not used to identify you.
We do not use any analytics tool, advertising tracker, social media pixel or profiling technology. The site’s font is hosted on our own server: no information is sent to third parties when you browse.
3. Cookies
The site uses a single cookie, mt_lang, which remembers the language you chose (French or English) for 12 months. It is strictly functional, contains no personal information and is not used to identify, locate or profile you. You can delete it at any time through your browser settings.
4. Why we use this information
- to answer your request (quote, information, service, support);
- to follow up on our business relationship, if applicable;
- to protect the site against abuse and ensure its security.
We use your information only for these purposes. We never sell or rent it, and we do not use it for marketing without your consent.
5. Consent
By submitting the contact form, you consent to the collection and use of your information for the purposes described above. You may withdraw your consent at any time by writing to the person in charge (section 1); we will then delete your information, unless the law requires us to keep it.
6. Who has access and service providers
Only Machtech employees who need it to handle your request have access to your information. Messages sent through the form are forwarded to our mailbox hosted by Microsoft 365 (Microsoft Corporation), whose data may be stored outside Quebec, including in Canada or the United States. Before entrusting information to a provider, we make sure it offers adequate protection, in particular through contractual commitments on confidentiality and security.
7. Retention and destruction
The copy of messages stored on the website’s server is automatically deleted after 12 months. Copies received by email are kept only as long as necessary to handle your request and to follow up on our business relationship, and are then destroyed securely.
8. Security
The site is served exclusively over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), messages are transmitted by encrypted email (TLS), and stored data is not accessible from the web. Access is limited to authorized persons. In the event of a confidentiality incident presenting a risk of serious injury, we will notify the Commission d’accès à l’information and the persons concerned, as required by law.
9. Your rights
You have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- have it corrected if it is inaccurate, incomplete or ambiguous;
- withdraw your consent and request its deletion;
- be informed of how it is used and with whom it is shared.
To exercise these rights, write to the person in charge (section 1). We will reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may file a complaint with the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.
10. External links
The site contains links to external websites (Google Maps, our partners). Their own privacy policies apply once you leave our site.
11. Changes
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices. The date of the last update appears at the top of this page.
